The deadline (April 15) here in the US of A to file taxes is approaching. Maybe some will be lucky and receive a refund. Others will not be so lucky as they owe taxes. Perhaps these unlucky folks can take comfort in the entertaining and heartfelt songs on this album. I am kind of surprised that the country style song, "Cut the Thievin' Hands off the IRS" is not more known. It is basically an anthem for those who don't like paying taxes especially to the IRS. I'm sure that these folks would be singing "Taxanity" in the shower often if the song was more widely distributed.

Ajay Lowery was a member of the United Soverign Party which seems to be similar to the Libertarian Party. The United Soverign Party was headquartered in Clinton, Arkansas.

Ajay cut and released this LP in 1984 when he ran for president of the US. Obviously, Ajay was not successful as Reagan won in a landslide. Along with anti-tax anthems, there are heartfelt anti-war songs. In my opinion, this LP succeeds as a means to get the attention of people to listen to viewpoints not often heard in the mainstream media. Ron Paul probably should think about doing an album.

"I am an outraged sovereign American and I am running for President in 1984." These are the words of a determined, dedicated, God-fearing man who loves his Country and the principles which made America great. He believes that she may be great again.

Arthur J. (Ajay) Lowery is a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and for the past 12 years, the Publisher of the Justice Times, the National Voice of the Second American Tax Freedom Movement, with subscribers in all fifty states. He is a common man, self educated, and has never had any political grooming. (I believe that's an asset.) He has never been a congressman or a senator, an astronaut or a vice president. He has never had a part in fomenting war, he has never voted for deficit spending, he has never helped to create double digit inflation, he is not a lawyer or in any position to buy votes or repay political favors.

All the narrations which I was privileged to perform on this record made me think of the brave men who signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Many of the same conditions that led to that signing have reappeared today and we are losing our freedoms at a terrifying rate.

In summary, Ajay Lowery is YOU and ME; fed up with politicians who care nothing for our constitutional form of government. We must put government back in its place; that place is as the servant of US - the People. Listen to this album; every song was written and performed right from the heart of this man who really cares.

Jim Bakker - How to Accomplish the Impossible with the Big Three Mountain Movers

Jim Bakker is a televangelist who was the leader of the PTL (Praise the Lord) Club with his then wife Tammy Faye Baker from the mid-1970s to the late 1980s. Bakker's time as head of the PTL Club is the most memorable time in his career as he had a media empire consisting of not only a TV show, The PTL Club, but also a cable network, an amusement park (Heritage USA) as well as a luxury hotel. Jim and Tammy preached the prosperity gospel telling people it's okay to live lavish lifestyles by obtaining lots of money and excessive material possessions . Even God wanted people to live like this according to the Bakkers. Before they became famous, Jim and Tammy started out in Pat Robertson's Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) where they came up with the idea of the variety show format and made the show The 700 Club the successful program it is today. Afterward, they moved out to California to help Paul and Jan Crouch with their then new network, Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) where the Bakkers were involved in the creation of the Praise the Lord show that still airs on TBN to this day. Then the Bakkers left for Charlotte, North Carolina to launch their show, The PTL Club. It is clear that Jim and Tammy Bakker have played a major role in the success of the two biggest and most successful Christian media ministries today, CBN and TBN.

In the late 80s, PTL crumbles due to accounting and fraud scandals by Jim Bakker and his underlings. Jim also decided to move a couple of mountains of his friend, Jessica Hahn, in some hotel room which Jim also paid her to keep hush about the affair. Jim was hauled to prison for a few years and Tammy divored him in 1992. Meanwhile, Jessica did okay with appearances in some photo spreads for Playboy which I'm sure are tasteful and in TV shows (Married With Children) and music videos (Sam Kinison's "Wild Thing").

Jim was released from prison and started over. He has remarried, moved to Branson, Missouri and has a new TV show, The Jim Bakker Show. Apparently, Jim has gained a greater understanding of The Bible and he vows to no longer fleece people for every dollar they have and spend the money on himself.

This LP was released in 1977 when the PTL Club was just getting started. It was recorded at PTL Studios, Heritage Village, Charlotte, North Carolina. The liner notes written by Gary Paxton provide more information about the LP:

Dear fellow belivers:
My endeavor to describe Jim Bakker in a few short words is an impossible task. It would take several pages just to outline his accomplishments, several more to explain his failures, and still several more to explain the mountain of mountains he has encountered in his ministry. One thing I have learned in the few short years I have been closely associated with Jim, is that he will not run from or back down when he is faced with a mountain. In the type of ministry he leads as President of the PTL Television network, almost every mountain I have seen him encounter was so big no one (any of us) could see over or even around any of the mountain. In a society that constantly bombards you with theorys of white power, black power, green power, brown power, consumer power, boycott power and new ones on the list every day, thank God Jim Bakker holds fast to one that he believes all Christians should live by 24 hours a day every day, and that's KNEE POWER. In the words of the Apostle mark in Chapter II, Verse 22 thru 24, "Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." The Building Blocks of Successful TV-Service Salesmanship

Today on the 17th of February in the year 2009, all television stations here in the United States were all supposed to permanently cease broadcasting with an analog signal and switch to broadcasting in digital. The date has been pushed back to June 12 by Congress because not everyone is ready to make the switch. The government has ran out of funds to provide for the coupons to purchase converter boxes. I should be lucky that I received my $40 coupon earlier last year to buy a converter box which I did. I say this because in the area where I live, nearly all of the local stations are switching today to digital whether people like it or not.
I guess the TV stations are saying in effect to the public, 'if you are not ready to watch our programming in beautiful digital quality, tough luck.' It seems that the local TV stations have a rather callous attitude towards their viewing public. What could possibly happen is that people really start to realize that most of the content aired on the local stations is mostly shit (infomercials, judge shows, mindless talk shows, news that is not really news, just sensationalistic pap, not to mention the junk known as advertisements that interrupt the programs or shows). Therefore, people would start to watch less television which results in declining ratings for the stations as well as lost revenue because hardly anyone is watching the ads. What I've said sounds overly optimistic, but there is a good chance that the scenario depicted takes place although I would place a low percentage on that actually happening. Most people here are just too addicted to the tube and if they can't get any coupons they'll just use the money that is set aside for food, the house payment, or bills and get a converter box or a digital TV so they won't miss out on "Desperate Housewives" and they want to watch their favorite newsanchor/TV personality. Also, it seems that most of the culture people here have nowadays comes from commercials.

Yes, I know this post is about a record that offers lessons for TV repair people on how to provide customer service. I'm sure that the lessons dispensed on this LP would apply today, but only used for the lucky elite people that have the equipment to watch the all-digital broadcasted TV.

Bob is a hero. Not just any plain hero. He is a holy hero. He tried to save souls in the modern version of Sodom and Gomorrah. He tried to purge wickedness from the place, but he couldn't get it done. It's still a decadent place full of drinking, strip clubs, partying, not to mention girls flashing their breasts at passersby. There is no doubt that the place is decadent when there have been several volumes of Girls Gone Wild videos filmed in the place. Oh, by the way, Mardi Gras is just around the corner. BOB HARRINGTON - HOLY HERO. Ours is an age without heroes. And, when we say this, we suddenly realize how spectacularly the world has changed in a short time. Most of us grew up in a time of towering personalities. For better or for worse, great men seemed to dominate our lives and shape our destiny. Many of these, though already dead, still influence our existence.

This century [20th century] has known such as Churchill, Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, the Roosevelts and Kennedys, Einstein and Freud. Some of these great men influenced the world for good, others for evil; but whether for good or for evil, the fact that each had not died at birth made a difference to every one who lived after them. He says, 'Which of us hasn't gained strength from the wisdom of Socrates, the creativity of Shakespeare, from the courage of Washington, the compassion of Lincoln, and above all, from the life and death of Jesus?"

And so we thank God for the Chaplain of Bourbon Street, God's Holy Hero. We are glad that he has determined to be God's great man, for in the words of Emerson, "Great men exist that there may be greater men." Bob Harrington strides toward greatness as God's man so there may be an army of God's men to follow.

Yes, Bob was a great man in the footsteps of Churchill, Einstein, Kennedy. But not even Bob was able to turn Bourbon Street into a center of holiness as today there may be more boobies flashed than ever.
