Bob Harrington - Chaplain of Bourbon Street

Bob Harrington - Chaplain of Bourbon Street

"Chaplain of Bourbon Street" was a title given to "Bro. Bob" Harrington by the then mayor of New Orleans, Louisiana. Bob was more than willing to go to that sinful and decadent place to save those sinners who inhabited the place. Bob even gave sermons in strip clubs.
On this record, Bob comes off as an affable guy and tells humourous anecdotes while preaching. All of the tracks have music at the end.
Read an interview with Bob that took place in 2000 that tells about Bob's rise and fall and his comeback from his fall.

  1. Your blog is a joy and treasure. Thank you so much for acquiring these recordings, for storing them safely, and for sharing them with us all.

I wish the internet was entirely about generous people like you sharing their world, rather than about shopping and propaganda.

    Thank you again,
    Russell

  2. This is fascinating! Having in New Orleans, and worked just off Bourbon, I am sure the good Reverend's speechifying will cure what ails me. Many thanks - d.
